Connection to Country
Ceramic wall mural and totem poles

In Term 3, 2018, I was invited to design and implement a project with the Reggio Emilia ELC 3 and 4 year olds, linking with their unit of inquiry titled – Connection to Country.

Students learned about Australian indigenous art, parallel lines, concentric circles and warm and cool colours. Through glazing their ceramic work, young artists learned sgraffito carving and embossing clay techniques. This large installation frames the ELC entrance with a wall mural and 3 interactive, rotating totem poles.
