Located in the heart of Mornington the studio caters for ages 7 - adults, teaching classes and workshops in all styles and mediums including: painting, drawing, ceramics, textiles, felting, collage and mixed media. Katrina is a highly experienced, registered Visual Arts educator with over 33 years teaching experience - 26 of those in P - 12 Independent Colleges in Bayside Melbourne. Katrina’s bespoke planned courses aim to extend and enrich the educational journey and needs of all students aged Year 1 - adults. All students are able to participate in a biannual exhibition to celebrate their creativity and effort within a creative community.

We offer weekly, bespoke written term courses for children, teenagers and adults. Each term, students explore a variety of artists, styles, mediums and techniques within a unique tailored theme. All students are supplied with a visual diary to record their learning and sketch designs. All protective wear is provided. Katrina will mount key completed works.

My School Holiday Workshops are bespoke, full day Art Educational experiences. Students will explore mediums such as drawing, painting, wet felting and or ceramics within a theme. All workshops are planned carefully to teach new skills, art history and exposure to contemporary artists. This is delivered in a supportive, fun and flexible way within a nurturing environment.

Teen Immersion
Artist Talk by Lizzie Alsop Mornington Peninsula painter.
Inspired by nature Lizzie’s work is intuitive and demonstrates strong compositional cropping and design elements and principles. Images layer natural organic elements with abstract principles. In our upcoming Teen Immersion Workshop, students will be inspired to design and paint their own overlapping natural and abstract image.

Throughout the term, my students explore a variety of artists, styles, mediums and techniques within a unique tailored theme. Mediums include; Ceramics, Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Textiles and Feltmaking, Collage, Mixed media.

Upcoming Workshops

During all my bespoke School Holiday Workshops, students will explore mediums such as drawing, OR painting OR ceramics OR feltmaking. Each workshop revolves around a theme. Artists, design elements and principles to create are entwined to create artwork using quality materials. They will take home mounted finished work, a bound booklet with activity notes and their design sketches. Their ceramic work will need to stay to dry, have two firings and I will contact you when ready to collect.

Year 1 - Year 7 workshop
10am - 2pm
$165 - Fee includes all materials, bound learning booklet, and two firings of ceramics and mounting of artwork.
Year 8 - year 12 Teen immersion
10am - 3pm
5 hours which includes an Artist Talk connected to the planned theme.
Please bring your water bottle and food for your day - No nuts.
$215 - Fee includes all materials, bound learning booklet, and two firings of ceramics and mounting of artwork.
A guest artist presents a talk to the students connecting to the medium and or theme of the immersion. A special extension offering for more in depth learning.
Adults Workshop

A 2-session ceramic hand building workshop where students will design and make to completion a ceramic piece.
This requires tuition or maybe your refresher of the construction options of slab, coil and pinch pot. I will guide you as which is appropriate and why for your specific design.
You will have choice of whether you will underglaze or gloss glaze your vessel.
All materials included -
A take home bound booklet with class notes, visuals, room for your designs, all protective wear provided, just bring a smile.
Small Adult classes for individual attention.
A beautiful pampering morning tea from local providers on the Mornington Peninsula is included for you to enjoy all day as you work. *Please notify me of any food intolerances or allergies in your booking.
I can provide a digital Professional Development Certificate for you upon request.
