A 2-day ceramic’s workshop where students will design and make to completion a hand-made ceramic vessel.
2-day workshop - 10 hours total - Professional Development certificate can be digitally emailed to you if required
All materials included - Any clay body of your choice, either underglazes OR Gloss glazes, a bound booklet with detailed notes & images with room for your designs and notetaking, a deliciously pampering morning tea of Mornington Peninsula produce
Small class for individual attention
Day 1
11.00am - 4.00pm
Students will design and make to completion a hand-built ceramic vessel of your choosing (sculptural or functional or both) celebrating the texture and 3D form of the medium’s possibilities. It will then need to dry and be fired over a couple of weeks before your second workshop.
Students will have the choice of using either a white earthenware or stoneware clay OR a raku OR terracotta clay. (This is a rare bonus compared to other courses)
Day 2
11.00am - 4.00pm
Students will learn about their glaze options of either underglazes OR gloss glaze for their work. The piece will then be fired again after the class and we will be in contact with you when it is ready for collection within three to four weeks dependent upon the work’s drying times. (This is due to 2 firings and cool down times after each one. Larger items of varying thicknesses require more care)
